My poem “first full moon ritual” appears in the inaugural issue of Altar Literary Magazine! After a (needed) publication drought for a couple of months, it’s great to have 2 poems published recently. April is not the cruellest month, for me at least.

When I was in grad school, we talked a lot about the process of putting together a collection. One area of focus was on poems that fill a gap or bridge a divide in a collection. This is a poem I wrote while thinking about that and how to smoothly transition between different topics and themes in a collection. I always like to have a ‘reset’ poem or two that I can strategically place before something shifts in a collection.
Thank you to Altar Literary Magazine for finding a home for this piece and believing in it when even I didn’t!
