“shedding: a burning haibun”

I am fortunate to have a poem in the latest (and final 🥲) issue of Chaotic Merge! While I am sad that this is the last ever issue of CM, I am honored to have made it in before they shut their doors.

The poem: https://chaoticmergemagazine.com/issue-10/ (TW: eating disorders)

I am really excited that I was able to experiment with the burning haibun form successfully!! This poem feels strangely vulnerable, I think because I haven’t published anything about my past eating disorder ever, but I am glad I wrote it and published it anyway.

Shoutout to Chaotic Merge for their last-ever issue.

I’ve heard of this form but didn’t know what it was. It’s always nice to learn about another poetry form.
    Congratulations on sliding in!

It’s a fun form to try out, but challenging too!
